The Faculty of Protestant Theology at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich is awarding the
Wolfhart Pannenberg Research Fellowship 2026
to researchers in the early stage of their postdoctoral career
We offer:
- a position as a research fellow for 3 to 6 months, starting at the earliest on 1 April 2026 (full-time position, remuneration according to TV-L E13)
- the opportunity to discuss the ongoing project in an intensive exchange with the members of our faculty
- diverse networking opportunities with related disciplines at LMU
- support in writing applications for third-party funded projects
Your requirements:
- a doctorate in Theology, Study of Religion, or a related discipline, completed no more than five years ago
- a relevant ongoing research project in a subject represented at the faculty
- a keen interest in interdisciplinary exchanges at LMU
- a broad international network
Your application contains:
- the curriculum vitae
- the list of publications
- an outline of the planned research project (1–3 pages, in German or English)
- the work schedule during the fellowship
- details about the intended activities and exchanges with researchers working at LMU
- one of your own publications (an article, book chapter, or similar, max. 30 pages) that is particularly significant for the intended research work
